Chairs – before
They were really dirty and looked awful, but I quickly visualized them in a neutral colour, so I “adopted” them and headed off to the street market on the following day to look for some fabric. I was lucky enough to find some pretty remnants with a country style, a real bargain too: 1â?¬ each!
I wanted to use the chairs together with some other chairs I already had for a dining room table, so I chose to give them each a different look with the upholstery, whilst keeping some continuity with the colour of the wood: I used ASCP Coco, a warm gray-brown, which for me suited the whole thing perfectly. With the idea of distressing in mind, I initially applied a base of ASCP Old White on the backs and left to dry, I then painted Coco all over the chairs, but when I saw the beautiful colour there, I decided not to distress them and directly used ASCP Clear Wax instead.
